How Are the NBA All Stars Chosen?
For those that follow the NBA but aren’t certain how the All Star Game participants are chosen, here is some quick info. There are two ways that are used to choose these players. First, the fans vote for their favorite player and for each position, the player that gets the most votes will start the game. The reserve players are selected by votes cast by the head coaches for each conference. A coach cannot vote for their own player and if someone is injured, then the commissioner selects a replacement. |

The All Star weekend consists of many different activities, including a Slam Dunk Contest, D-League and skills competition. For many fans, it’s the ultimate basketball weekend and a chance to see their favorite players take centre stage and compete in some outstanding activities. This is one of the highest grossing weekends for any major sporting event in the United States. Many fans plan their entire vacations around attending the All Star Weekend and most are not disappointed in the action.
